About our Legal team:
The RHDHV global legal team includes 25 professionals, such as legal counsel, insurance specialists, paralegals, and a secretariat. This team spans several continents, including the Netherlands, UK, Poland, Indonesia, and Australia, working together to uphold RHDHV’s legal interests.
As we expand our UK operations, we seek to strengthen our legal team with an additional legal counsel, who will serve as an essential legal business partner across various projects, both nationally and internationally.
Job Role:
The legal counsel will manage a diverse portfolio of legal documentation related to Royal HaskoningDHV’s projects. You will collaborate directly with project teams and management to provide high-quality, efficient, and approachable legal advice aligned with business priorities. Your responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating consultancy agreements, warranties, and joint venture contracts for UK and international projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify and mitigate risks in business operations while aligning with internal policies and seizing commercial opportunities.
2. Work with the global legal team to design and implement innovative legal processes.
3. Participate in mergers and acquisitions due diligence.
4. Advise on emerging legal trends and regulations affecting our operations.
5. Educate and train project managers and management on legal risks and corporate governance.
6. Handle claims and disputes, liaising with external lawyers as needed.
Essential Skills:
1. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
2. Strong communication and listening skills.
3. Experience working across different cultures and systems.
4. Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
5. Strategic thinking and foresight.
6. Proficiency with Microsoft applications and AI tools.
Candidate Requirements:
* Master’s degree in law.
* 3-5 years of legal experience, ideally within an international organization or reputable law firm.
* Preferably experience within a multinational engineering consultancy or contractor.
