Operations Director – Built Estate (Central Region)
Location: Central England Salary: £135,000 – £150,000 + package
Hays are pleased to be partnering with a leading organisation operating acrossplex, large-scale built environments to appoint an Operations Director. This is a critical and highly visible leadership role responsible for delivering operational excellence across a significant regional estate.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will have full accountability for the safe,pliant and cost-effective delivery of maintenance, repair and capital works across a diverse portfolio of sites.
The role epasses:
1. Circa £100m annual maintenance programme (reactive, planned and statutory)
2. Circa £250m capital investment programme, ranging from minor works toplex, mufti disciplinary projects
3. Leadership of a large, geographically dispersed team and an extensive outsourced supply chain
You will be instrumental in driving performance, customer oues and continuous improvement across aplex operating environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
4. Lead end to end delivery of maintenance and project activities across the estate
5. Ensure services are safe,pliant, customer focused and deliver value for money
6. Hold outsourced partners accountable for delivery performance and quality
7. Drive productivity, service improvement and enhanced customer experience
Capital Programme Delivery
8. Oversee delivery of a large scale capital works programme
9. Ensure robusternance, risk management andmercial control
10. Balance pace, quality and long term asset performance
Asset Management &pliance
11. Implement asset management strategies and life cycle planning
12. Ensure adherence to all statutory and regulatory requirements
13. Maintain strong risk management and assurance processes
14. Full P&L responsibility across operational and capital budgets
15. Drivemercial discipline, cost optimisation and contract performance
16. Use data and insight to inform decision making and improve oues
Leadership & Culture
17. Lead and develop a high-performing, multi disciplinary leadership team
18. Embed a culture of accountability, collaboration and performance
19. Drive organisational capability and succession planning
Stakeholder Engagement
20. Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, clients and partners
21. Provide clear, credible leadership across aplex stakeholder landscape
About YouWe are seeking a senior leader with a proven track record inplex, asset-intensive environments.
You will bring:
22. Significant leadership experience within facilities management, construction, infrastructure or property environments
23. Demonstrated success managing large scale outsourced delivery models and budgets
24. Strongmercial acumen and contract management expertise
25. Experience leading large, multi functional teams across dispersed locations
26. A track record of delivering operational improvement and cultural change
27. The ability to perform in fast paced, high pressure environments
Technical & Professional:
28. Strong understanding of FM, construction and M&E environments
29. Relevant qualification (degree, HND or equivalent experience)
30. Professional memberships or leadership qualifications desirable
