This is an exciting time to join Solihull’s Education, Health and Care Plan Team as we continue to grow our service. Due to an increased investment to expand the team, we are currently recruiting for additional Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) Officers to join the service. We have a number of opportunities for: EHCP Officer – Full time (37 hours per week), Permanent. EHCP Officer – Full time (37 hours per week) 12 months Fixed Term Contract – due to external funding. We are looking for professionals with experience in special educational needs who are seeking a new challenge and responsibility in an exciting and fast paced role. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will request and collate information from a number of partner services in line with the local authority’s legal duties and working processes. As an EHCP Officer you will manage a caseload of children and young people with Educational Health Care Plans who are under assessment, identifying and raising complex cases with your supervisor and supporting parents, young people and schools. You will effectively be able to engage with parents, young people and schools, ensuring that they are supported, and that their EHCP journey is underpinned by co-production principles. To be considered for this opportunity you will have: A relevant professional qualification (Teaching, Psychology, Child Care, Social Work) or considerable experience of employment in an educational setting, EHCP Officer role or another role relating to the statutory SEND framework. Experience and knowledge that enables you to take accurate, reasoned and justified decisions under pressure in line with the local authority’s legal duties and obligations and in the best interest of the children and young people. Detailed Knowledge and experience of working to the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Code of Practice and Statutory SEN processes. Experience of undertaking assessments, support planning and review in a child-centred approach. Strong analytical and evaluative skills required to write EHC Plans.
