In this key leadership role, you’ll ensure fleet availability meets PVR requirements, manage workshop teams, and deliver excellence in maintenance, repair, and overhaul of vehicles—all while working within budget and maintaining core KPIs.

Act as the on-site lead for depot security, health & safety, and safe working practices
Support the Engineering Manager in daily operational tasks
Lead and supervise workshop teams, ensuring vehicles and components are serviced, maintained, and repaired efficiently
Plan, allocate, and balance workloads to meet specifications and deadlines
Liaise with Chargehands to maintain on-road engineering performance
Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, quality procedures, and environmental standardsAbout You:
Strong engineering background with experience in maintenance, repair, and overhaul of heavy vehicles, equipment, or machinery
Ideally experience within the bus or HGV industry
Recognized engineering apprenticeship, vocational qualification, or degree/diploma in engineering/vehicle maintenance
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety, leading by example (IOSH desirable)
Excellent leadership, team-building, and motivational skills
