HAYS are seeking an experienced and proactive Buildingpliance Manager with a strong background in asbestos management to join our client on an interim basis. This position plays a critical role in ensuring statutorypliance across a diverse property portfolio, with a particular focus on asbestos risk management and control. You will lead on the development, implementation, and monitoring of asbestospliance strategies, ensuring all activities align with current legislation and best practice.
This role is paying up to £500 per day, outside IR35. The successful candidate would be required to be on site 1/2 days per week in the West Midlands.
The key responsibilities of this role are:
1. Oversee and manage asbestospliance across the property portfolio, ensuring full adherence to the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
2. Act as the subject-matter expert for asbestos, providing technical guidance and assurance to internal teams and contractors.
3. Manage asbestos surveys, re-inspections, and removal projects, ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting.
4. Liaise with external consultants and contractors to ensure high standards of service delivery.
5. Support broader buildingpliance functions including Fire Safety, Gas Safety, Electrical Safety, Lift Safety and Legionella.
6. Manage the Asbestospliance team (6 heads).
7. Prepare and presentpliance reports to senior stakeholders.
In order to be successful in this role, you will have:
8. Proven experience in a buildingpliance or propertypliance role, with a strong focus on asbestos.
9. People management experience.
10. In-depth knowledge of UK asbestos legislation andpliance frameworks.
11. Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
