Care Job Summary
As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in a care home or home care setting. Your compassionate nature and dedication to enhancing the well-being of those in your care will be essential. You will assist with daily living activities, ensuring that each resident or client receives personalised attention and support according to their individual care plans.
Duties
* Assist residents or clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Support individuals with mobility and physical activities, ensuring their safety and comfort.
* Help with meal preparation and feeding as required, promoting healthy eating habits.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in health or behaviour to senior staff.
* Engage residents or clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
* Follow care plans meticulously to ensure that each individual's needs are met effectively.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents or clients at all times.
* Drive to clients' homes as needed, ensuring punctuality and reliability.
Skills
* Proficient in English, with strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members.
* IT skills for maintaining records and using care management software.
* Experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
* Ability to understand and implement individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
* Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach towards caring for others.
* A valid driving licence is preferred for those who may need to travel between locations. This role requires dedication, empathy, and the ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
