Job Title: Senior Technical Delivery Manager
This is a senior role accountable for delivering projects across Ethernet, Optical and Mobile Backhaul services, as well as internal projects on UK Internet Peering / IPVPN and Mobile Backhaul platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* The incumbent will operate as an Subject Matter Expert in Planning & Delivery management, setting the development, implementation and maintenance of projects across the portfolio.
* The manager will mentor, coach and lead a team to develop current and future team capabilities and ensure performance.
* The overall delivery roadmap for the team will be managed by the incumbent, ensuring alignment with strategic plans and interlock with stakeholders both within Fixed Networks and across Business / Digital / Openreach.
* Financial management, including Capex and Opex, will be handled by the incumbent.
* The team's submission into the Annual Investment Plan, Mid Term Plan (MTP) will be coordinated by the manager.
* Interlock with Business and Digital will be ensured by the incumbent.
* Total Labour Resource (TLR) / Total Labour Cost (TLC) management, as well as input into finance resource trackers (PFT), will be carried out by the incumbent.
* The manager will also coach the team in Agile methodologies and support them to deliver projects on time, to required quality and budget.
* Project/programme risks will be managed by the incumbent, mitigating and adjusting as necessary and obtaining buy-in from senior management for critical project plans, commitment and changes.
Requirements
* A significant amount of experience and expertise in managing a portfolio of projects to deliver to time, quality and budget is required.
* A good technical understanding of products (Wholesale Ethernet, BTnet, Mobile Backhaul, IP/Ethernet Connect) and Platforms, as well as the ability to communicate clearly the Business outcomes for the project / roadmaps is necessary.
* Stakeholder requirements gathering, management and prioritization are essential skills for this role.
* The ability to use Agile methodologies and JIRA to manage a portfolio of projects to achieve aims is required.
* Financial and resource planning, budgeting and reporting are key responsibilities of this position.
* Risk management and mitigation are crucial for this role.
* People management and leadership, including motivating, inspiring and leading teams in a complex environment and through periods of change, are essential skills for this position.
* Building strong working relationships with stakeholders inside and outside the team at all levels of the organisation, including those with different priorities from your own, is necessary.
