Position
We are seeking an Entry Level Data Scientist to join our dynamic Data Team. In this role, you will work on the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics and machine learning solutions that power our unified data platform and DaaS offerings. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to uncover insights, build predictive models, and contribute to scalable data products that drive business value for our clients.
Your key responsibilities
* Support the development and deployment of predictive models and machine learning algorithms to support core insurance business functions (e.g. underwriting, pricing, fraud detection, claims).
* Work with the Data team to design and enhance the unified data platform and DaaS infrastructure.
* Support with the analysis of large, complex datasets to extract actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making.
* Build reusable data science assets and pipelines to support productised analytics and reporting.
* Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to understand data needs and identify opportunities for innovation.
Qualifications
Requirements:
1. Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
Experience
* Previous experience gained via academia or through commercial work experience in a Data Science.
* Experience with Python, SQL, and exposure to relevant data science libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
* Familiarity with Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) concepts and architectures.
* Understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data pipeline development.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex findings in a clear, actionable manner.

Please note, this is a hybrid role requiring in-office attendance at our Winchester or Worcester office twice a week, therefore we are looking initally for candidates who live within a 50 mile radius of one of these offices.
