Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Ayrshire
Salary: £43,000
Hours: Monday–Friday, Dayshift (Early Friday finish)
Location: Ayrshire
Role Overview
We are seeking a hands on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer who is interested in developing into a support/leadership role - working alongside and overseeing a small team of engineers. This role offers a 70/30 split between engineering work and team/department support and includes involvement in key maintenance and operational decisions.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day support, guidance, and coordination for the engineering team.
* Contribute to maintenance planning and departmental decision making.
* Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance.
* Diagnose faults and deliver effective engineering solutions.
* Lead mechanical repairs, inspections, overhauls, and equipment changeovers.
* Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
* Maintain accurate maintenance documentation.
What We’re Looking For
* Time-served Mechanical Engineer or equivalent.
* Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
* Confident communicator with the ability to support and guide others.
