Veterinary Surgeon – Small Animal Independent Practice – Surrey
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established, independent practice in Surrey. This role offers the chance to work within a friendly, collaborative team that prides itself on delivering excellent patient care while supporting vets to maintain a healthy work–life balance.
The practice is supported by a nearby purpose-built hospital, giving you access to advanced diagnostics and surgical facilities, including CT and specialist procedures. This means you’ll enjoy a varied caseload, with the reassurance of strong clinical backup when needed.

The Role
Full-time Veterinary Surgeon position
40 hours per week across a 4-day week (4 x 10-hour shifts)
Shifts typically 8:30am–6:30pm with a paid lunch break
1:3–1:4 Saturdays (8am–4pm) with a weekday off in lieu
No out-of-hours or on-call
Balanced caseload of consultations and surgery, with at least one dedicated surgery day per week
Work alongside a large, experienced veterinary team, supported by skilled RVNs and dedicated support staff
Facilities include:
ultrasound, dental X-ray, digital radiography, video otoscopy and laser therapy.
About You
You’ll be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon who is confident with routine consults and surgery and enjoys working as part of a supportive team. Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for patient care and client relationships are key.
GDP Advisor experience would be welcomed but is not essential.

Salary & Benefits
Salary from £45,000+ DOE - £65,000
Annual trips abroad
£1,500 CPD allowance + 4 CPD days (enhanced support for certificates available)
RCVS, VDS and one additional professional membership paid
