Ellowes Hall Sports College is part of a Multi Academy Trust comprising six secondary schools and one primary school with over 750 employees and over 5,500 students, based in Dudley, West Midlands. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Science who can teach to a professional standard and understands effective student learning through challenging, high quality and exciting teaching methods. The successful candidate will have the expertise to inspire and engage students and will be determined to get the best from our diverse cohort, ensuring they make their very best progress through planning and delivering engaging lessons that motivate learners to succeed.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons that challenge and engage students. Inspire learners to achieve their best progress, including planning and implementing schemes of learning that support academic excellence and holistic development. Contribute to a positive and supportive learning community through professional collaboration with colleagues.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status with evidence of successful teaching in science
* Ability to teach to a professional standard and raise attainment for a diverse cohort
* Commitment to continuing to improve students’ achievement and attainment
* Willingness to contribute to school improvement and ongoing professional development
Safeguarding and Recruitment
In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025, the Trust will carry out an online search on shortlisted candidates. All required pre-employment checks will be undertaken, and offers of employment are subject to satisfactory outcomes, including an enhanced DBS check with the Children’s Barred List information, identity checks, online checks, and verification of professional qualifications and references. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions Order 1975, as amended). Certain convictions or cautions are considered “protected” and need not be disclosed.
