Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have a love for animals and the great outdoors? Join our dynamic team and help transform lives through a practical farm and animal care education
About Us:
Miniland Farm is a specialist SEN Primary school supporting children and young people aged 5-11 with a range of social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) and Special Educational Needs (SEN). Many of our students have faced significant challenges in mainstream education, and we pride ourselves on offering a nurturing, trauma-informed, and relationship-centred environment where they can re-engage with learning.
We offer a creative and personalised curriculum that includes farm and animal care education as a key part of our therapeutic and skills-based approach. Our on-site farm is a unique and powerful tool for learning, helping students build confidence, emotional regulation, and real-world skills in a calm, nature-rich setting.
The Role:
We are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and resilient SEN Primary Teacher with a specific interest or experience in farm and animal care education. You will work closely with our students, supporting them in an outdoor farm-based setting, helping them to access learning opportunities and develop key life skills in a therapeutic and nature-rich environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide support and bespoke curriculum for students with SEN and SEMH needs, aged 5-11
* Plan and deliver the National Curriculum through practical learning, therapeutic goals, and life skills
* Build trusted relationships with students through consistency, patience, and a trauma-informed approach
* Contribute to the care, supervision and safeguarding of all students
* Support with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and engagement strategies, both indoors and outdoors
* Work collaboratively with all staff to meet individual learning plans
We're Looking For Someone Who:
* Has previous experience working with children and young people with SEN, SEMH, or in an alternative provision setting
* Has a strong interest or experience in animal care
* Is calm, compassionate, and adaptable in a variety of learning and behavioural situations
* Is confident working outdoors in all seasons and comfortable around animals
* Can bring creativity, positivity, and resilience to their practice
* Understands the importance of therapeutic education and the impact of trauma-informed practice
What We Offer:
* A close-knit, supportive team who are passionate about making a difference
* Ongoing CPD and training in SEN, SEMH, therapeutic approaches, and animal-assisted education
* The chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people
* A peaceful and inspiring working environment on a beautiful farm-based site
