Stable Minds CIC is a dedicated mental health hub established to alleviate pressure on the NHS by offering specialised support groups for those experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, baby loss, domestic abuse, and other challenges. Our services include male-only and female-only groups, co-dependency workshops, and mindfulness programs. Based in Knutsford, we provide day workshops and classes led by highly trained therapists, counsellors, and psychotherapists. Additionally, we supply care packages designed to promote well‑being for individuals and families in times of crisis, committed to supporting the community's mental health needs.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Children's Counsellor located in Knutsford. The Children’s Counsellor will provide therapeutic support to children age 3 to 18 experiencing emotional, social, or psychological challenges.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct assessments.
* Design and deliver tailored counselling sessions.
* Work collaboratively with families and local community organisations.
* Maintain accurate and confidential records.
* Promote mental health awareness.
* Contribute to group workshops and intervention programs for children.
Qualifications
* Proficiency in counselling techniques, including child-focused therapy and trauma-informed care.
* Understanding of child psychology, emotional development, and mental health challenges.
* Skills in building strong relationships, empathy, and active listening.
* Experience in maintaining case notes and handling sensitive information with professionalism.
* Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and initiate collaborations with families and communities.
* Relevant qualifications in counselling or psychotherapy, with a specialism in child mental health.
* Experience working with children in a counselling or therapeutic setting.
* An understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
* Flexibility, reliability, and a passion for making a positive impact in children’s lives.
* Level 5 or above in Children's counselling and at least 4 years of experience.
