Job Overview
The Preschool Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational management, and development of the preschool. This includes ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, maintaining high standards of early childhood education, managing staff alongside the supportive committee, working closely with families and the wider community. The manager plays a key role in curriculum planning, compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining a positive learning culture.
Duties
* 1. Leadership & Management:
* Lead and support a small team of educators and support staff.
2. Curriculum & Learning:
* Oversee the planning and delivery of a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
* Ensure that the preschool is meeting EYFS requirements.
* Monitor and evaluate teaching practices and learning outcomes.
* Support Parents/Carers in next steps planning.
3. Operations & Administration:
* Manage day-to-day operations of the preschool.
* Maintain accurate records related to enrollment, attendance, incidents, and compliance.
* Develop and manage budgets, purchase supplies, and oversee resource allocation.
* Ensure that the preschool environment meets all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
4. Family & Community Engagement:
* Serve as the primary contact for parents and guardians.
* Communicate regularly with families regarding their children's development and preschool events via our online learning journal.
* Organise family engagement activities and share community partnerships events.
* Handle parent concerns and resolve conflicts effectively.
5. Compliance & Quality Assurance:
* Ensure compliance with all local and national childcare regulations and standards working with the Local Authority.
* Prepare for and facilitate inspections and accreditation processes.
* Implement policies and procedures consistently across the preschool.
* Develop and implement strategic plans for the preschool's growth and improvement.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional working environment.
* Organise regular team meetings and provide ongoing professional development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required:
* Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
* Knowledge of early childhood development frameworks and educational practices.
* Preferred Paediatric First Aid Qualification
* Hold a Maths GCSE of Grade C/4 or above or be willing to work towards this while in post.
