St Patrick's Primary School Wallsend is seeking a Permanent Part-Time (11 hours per week) Canteen Manager to join the team. While Fridays are essential, we offer flexibility with the remaining days to suit the right candidate.
St Patrick's Primary School, Wallsend, is a Catholic community in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle offering families a welcoming environment for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. The Canteen Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the school canteen, including opening, closing, preparing, and selling menu items as per the canteen menu. The role requires adherence to food handling and money handling policies, maintaining a cooperative work environment, and providing friendly, customer-focused service to students and staff.
The manager will support strong relationships within the school community, especially with students, parents, volunteers, teachers, and staff.
Responsibilities include managing the canteen profitably according to policies, procedures, and WHS legislation. The role emphasizes relationship-building within the school community.

Experience/Criteria
* Experience in food preparation and service
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Customer service skills, especially with children
* Experience operating a food business
* Ability to supervise a small team and demonstrate initiative
* Time management skills and operational control
* Experience with volunteers and parent groups
* Basic financial management knowledge
* Understanding of WHS legislation
* Computer literacy in Microsoft Office
* Food safety and handling experience
Qualifications
* Basic Food Handling Certificate
* Current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
