The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced leader to join our expanding Digital Business Services Team. The successful candidate will help to lead the delivery of key Digital business-related services, as well as supporting the wider delivery of NHS Lanarkshire’s (NHSL) Digital Strategy to transform our health and social care services to the benefit of the population of NHS Lanarkshire.

Reporting to the Business Services Manager, this new role will provide comprehensive project management, planning, and service improvement expertise across several key work streams, including (but not limited to):

* Finance and Procurement
* Digital Strategy
* Digital Governance
* Risk Management
* Health & Safety

A key aspect of this role will be to provide day-to-day leadership and line management of the Business Services Team.

The post holder will be a team player, committed to further developing the functions of Business Services Team to support the priorities of the wider Digital Directorate and NHS Lanarkshire.

What we'll need you to bring

* Educated to degree level or equivalent with qualification in an Informatics / Information Technology or business-management field

* Post graduate expertise within the area of practice area that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently

* Comprehensive knowledge of the operation of core IT systems in use within NHS Lanarkshire

* Knowledge, acquired through experience, of the operation of clinical and non-clinical departments across all sectors of NHSL

* Knowledge of project management methodology

* Knowledge of ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library)

* Influencing, negotiating and mediation skills, able to gain credibility and confidence of a wide range of NHS professionals and senior managers

* Excellent inter-personal, communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills

* Initiative, independence of action and maturity of judgement

* Ability to deal with often conflicting demands and priorities, and working under pressure

* Good understanding of NHS Scotland direction, priorities and structures and an ability to think strategically in respect of programmes national and local in terms of how they impact on Digital strategy

* Knowledge of current legislation on Data Protection, Freedom of Information, Diversity, etc.

* The post holder will come into contact with multiple applications and systems across all sectors of NHS Lanarkshire, Acute, General Practice Community as well as Health and Social care integrated environments. The post holder will have to develop detailed and comprehensive knowledge of each of these as part of their service management responsibilities.
