Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, safe, and effective patient-centred care. This involves assessing and prioritizing patients upon arrival based on clinical need, promoting interdisciplinary working and cross-skilling among staff.
Developing key partnerships and ensuring effective whole system working through communication and collaboration across organisational boundaries. As an autonomous practitioner, providing comprehensive care packages using advanced clinical skills and decision-making abilities to assess, diagnose, and treat patients with minor injuries and illnesses. Working with other practitioners to define and improve standards of care and practice. Additionally, liaising with senior staff to manage and coordinate the Urgent Treatment Centre, including managing staff and consumables.
* Ensures that all staff including temporary staff and students in the unit are aware of emergency procedures to follow.
* Leads others in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care of patients in the unit in accordance with Trust ENP Guidelines and departmental protocols prior to discharge home or transfer of the patient to another hospital.
* You will use advanced assessment skills to enable differential diagnosis of patient’s conditions.
* You will be a prescriber or be willing to undertake the non-medical prescribing course to enable you to prescribe for adults and paediatrics within your scope of practice for minor injuries and illness.
* Prescribe medications and administer treatments within scope of practice, adhering to clinical guidelines and protocols
* Offer advice on preventive measures, self-management strategies, and follow-up care to promote continuity of care beyond the urgent treatment center setting
* Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals within the urgent treatment center, including doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals, to ensure seamless delivery of care
* With due regard to Risk Management policies and procedures, ensures that a safe environment for patients, relatives, carers and staff is maintained.
* To ensure provision of professional leadership and supervision to staff within own discipline and facilitation of appropriate professional leadership for other disciplines.
