About the role
Balfour Beatty (Urban Fox) has an exciting opportunity for a Product & Network Manager to join our growing team.
Base location is flexible - some travel required
The Network and Product Manager is responsible for defining, governing, and continuously improving Urban Fox’s EV charging products across hardware, firmware, installation standards, and supporting software features, while also acting as the Network Officer for legacy networks. This role translates commercial and operational needs into clear product requirements and roadmaps, ensures robust version control and performance management, and maintains compliance with evolving legislation, standards, and regulatory expectations.
What you'll be doing
Product Strategy & Requirements (HW, SW & Installation)
* Define and maintain product requirements for EV charger hardware, firmware, installation standards, and customer/field-facing software features.
* Ensure product decisions support Urban Fox’s commercial goals, technical standards, and operational needs (including maintainability, safety, and serviceability).
* Own product governance artefacts including specifications, change control, release notes, and approvals, ensuring clear traceability from requirements through to delivery.
* Maintain a clear end-to-end product roadmap with full version control across hardware variants, firmware releases, and installation methods.
* Lead release planning and readiness reviews, coordinating engineering, operations, field delivery, and support teams to ensure controlled rollout and accurate documentation.
Product Performance Management (KPIs, SLAs & Defect Resolution)
* Monitor product performance against KPIs, SLAs, safety metrics, and regulatory expectations, identifying trends and addressing issues proactively.
* Lead routine product reviews and escalating risks, defects, incidents, or improvement needs to relevant teams, tracking actions through to closure.
Compliance, Standards & Regulatory Readiness
* Track upcoming legislation and standards (e.g., electrical, cybersecurity, consumer, and charging regulations) to ensure all EV products, installations, and systems remain compliant.
* Maintain documented standards, test evidence, and release records to support audits, supplier assurance, and operational readiness.

* Data-led and proactive, using KPIs and customer/field feedback to prioritise improvements and prevent repeat issues.
* Comfortable operating in regulated environments and translating standards/legislation into practical product and installation requirements.
Experience
* Proven experience in product or technical management across physical hardware and software, ideally in EV charging, IoT, utilities, or other field-deployed infrastructure.
* Experience defining requirements, managing backlogs, and delivering roadmaps, including release planning and version control across multiple product components.
* Strong understanding of EV charger installation practices and quality standards, with the ability to translate field learnings into scalable installation methods.
* Demonstrated capability using KPIs/SLAs and operational data to manage performance, defects, and supplier accountability in live environments.
