Overview
As the Chef Manager at Streatham & Clapham Prep School, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and delivery of meals for both the prep school and nursery. You will lead a small, dedicated team and ensure the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and service are maintained.
Location: Streatham & Clapham Prep School
Salary: £38,000 per annum (Term-time, 39 weeks, 190 days)
Responsibilities
* Oversee food preparation and meal service for the prep school and nursery
* Lead and manage a small team of 4-6 staff
* Ensure high standards of food quality, hygiene, and health and safety are maintained
* Plan and develop menus that meet the needs of students and staff
* Manage stock control and order supplies as needed
* Control food budgets and ensure cost-effective operations
* Ensure meals are nutritious, balanced, and cater to dietary requirements
* Monitor and maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization
* Maintain a positive, collaborative working environment within the kitchen team
Qualifications
* Experience in a similar chef or kitchen management role
* Level 3 Food Safety & Hygiene certification (or equivalent)
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergen management
* Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
* Passion for quality food and a commitment to high standards of service
