The Apprentice Engineer Role

The Apprenticeship Standard
This is a Level 6 apprenticeship, meaning that upon completion, you will have both 5 years of experience and a BEng (Hons) degree. Our chosen program is delivered by the University of South Wales.
Your Profile
At Sir Robert McAlpine, we typically look for candidates who:
* Have a passion for problem-solving
* Are interested in construction, engineering, and the latest technology
* Possess work experience (desirable)
The entry requirements for the Apprenticeship course are as follows:
* BTEC: Diploma grade D*D* with an A grade in A Level Mathematics, or passing an appropriate assessment in mathematics.
* BTEC Extended Diploma: Grade DDD including the two Mathematics units, ‘Calculus to Solve Engineering Problems’ and ‘Further Engineering Mathematics’.
* A Level: AAA grades, including Mathematics and a Physical Science. Applicants with a strong profile but without A Level Mathematics will be subject to passing an appropriate assessment.
* Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A-C including Maths and English or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above).
