Kids Planet is an independent family run group of nurseries providing the highest standard of nursery care across the UK.
We’re looking for a People (HR) Advisor to join our friendly, field‑based team, based in the North.
The role will support day‑to‑day operational people matters within the relevant region and collaborate closely with the HR Business Partner and the wider People team. Where possible, the role requires travel to Central Support once a month for the All People Department Team meeting.

Key Responsibilities
* Act as the main point of contact for people queries and case‑work management through the employee life cycle by providing advice and coaching to managers, ensuring legislation, process and policy are followed.
* Support the conduct of investigations and advise line through investigation, disciplinary and grievance processes.
* Advise line managers on probationary reviews and performance management processes.
* Assist managers in effective and supportive management of short‑term and long‑term absences.
* Act as a wellbeing champion and key HR contact in the region for mental health and wellbeing support.
* Deliver training modules for existing and new managers.
* Support Leadership and HR Business Partners on all HR and business‑lead projects, engaging stakeholders to achieve People Strategy objectives.
* Work with the recruitment team to action recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring settings operate at required ratios, attracting, managing talent and succession planning for enhanced staff development and business results.
* Maintain HR systems, employee records and data for effective reporting across the designated region.
* Research and develop a resource hub of relevant training, guidance and manuals for employees and managers.
* Support HR Business Partners with TUPE activities.
* Support the wider HR team with the administration of the monthly payroll process and employee payroll queries.
* Update systems and maintain personal records for all staff and case‑work.
* Draft invite letters, outcome letters, minutes, filing, manage inboxes and set up meetings.
What a People (HR) Advisor Needs
* A minimum of 3 years HR generalist experience.
* Collaborative and engaging approach and ability to work as part of a team.
* Experience producing accurate employment documentation and correspondence.
* Ability to work appropriately with confidential and sensitive information.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* CIPD qualification minimum Level 5.
* Employment law knowledge.
* Intermediate MS Office suite skills.
* Demonstrates wider business understanding of children’s daycare settings or similar sector knowledge.
