Lecturer in Craft – Postgraduate Studies
Arts University Plymouth invites applications for a Lecturer in Craft to join the postgraduate teaching team. This fixed‑term (12 month) position is available for a career break absence cover.
Salary: Band 7 – £7,226 (FTE £36,130). Hours: 7.4 hours per week (1 day per week on Wednesdays).

About the Role
The role is responsible for teaching MA students across multiple design and craft‑focused programmes. You will deliver subject‑specific seminars and tutorials, support student‑led projects and foster interdisciplinary learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality postgraduate teaching, feedback and assessment across subject‑specific and cross‑disciplinary units/seminars.
* Lead assigned units, including planning, scheduling, delivery and assessment, whilst maintaining accurate and timely reporting.
* Foster innovative and inclusive learning environments that promote student engagement, progression and achievement.
* Support students' professional development and career preparedness aligned with graduate outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience in Higher Education teaching in contemporary craft, ceramics, glass, biomaterials or a related materially‑led creative practice.
* In‑depth understanding of the creative and craft industries, with the ability to apply theory to practice.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with students, colleagues and external partners.
* Minimum of an MA level qualification.
* Experience with techniques in ceramics, hot glass or biomaterials is advantageous.
