Gap Personnel is working in partnership with a well-established, privately owned engineering business based in Oldbury, West Midlands.
Due to significant business growth and organisational restructuring, we are recruiting an experienced Maintenance Manager (Multi-Skilled) to strengthen the maintenance and engineering function across the business.
This is a hands-on leadership role, combining technical expertise with people and project management, supporting both reactive and planned maintenance while driving continuous improvement.
Duties and responsibilities as a Maintenance Manager:
* Lead and manage all mechanical and electrical maintenance activities across two sites
* Plan, manage and improve the preventive maintenance (PM) schedule
* Fault find and repair pumps, motors, impellors, pneumatics and fluid systems
* Project manage engineering and maintenance improvement projects
* Report against monthly engineering objectives and KPIs
* Ensure machinery uptime, reliability and compliance with operational requirements
* Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring full Health & Safety compliance
* Support out-of-hours call-outs and provide shift cover when required
Key skills and qualifications required as a Maintenance Manager:
Technical / Engineering Skills
* Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance background
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
* Experience fault-finding on pumps, motors and fluid systems
* Understanding of pneumatics and fluid logic
* Automotive manufacturing background (preferred)
* Wet paint or coatings experience (preferred)
* ABB robotics experience (preferred)
Management & Professional Skills
* Proven experience managing maintenance or engineering teams
* Strong project management capability
* Experience using Excel-based PM systems
* Good PC skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across all levels
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
