Overview
My client is a privately owned Mechanical Contractor based in Surrey with 26 years of operation. They employ about 35 staff and specialise in Fast Track Commercial Office Fit out projects in London with project values ranging from £500k to £11.5M. They are seeking a Mechanical Site Supervisor to join their team.
Site base: London (sites across Central London). Role focuses on installation and commercial fit outs for AC, ventilation and associated mechanical plant on office fit out projects.
Responsibilities
* Supervise the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection systems.
* Ensure all mechanical installations comply with design specifications, codes, and safety regulations.
* Coordinate daily activities and work schedules for mechanical teams.
* Ensure all mechanical work is completed on time and within the project budget.
* Oversee the allocation of resources, tools, and materials for mechanical tasks.
* Perform inspections of mechanical work to ensure quality standards and safety compliance.
* Maintain high quality work to meet industry standards and client expectations.
* Enforce site safety regulations and protocols; conduct safety audits and risk assessments.
* Monitor PPE usage and other safety measures; ensure safe on-site practices to prevent accidents or injuries.
* Supervise mechanical tradespeople, including plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters; provide guidance and technical support on-site.
* Offer training on best practices and safety standards.
* Act as the point of contact between the mechanical team and other departments (electrical, civil, project management).
* Address issues during construction or installation, including mechanical failures or design discrepancies; proactively solve problems and minimise delays.
* Maintain accurate records of work completed, inspections, maintenance reports, and safety logs; document changes to mechanical plans.
* Prepare and submit reports on the progress and status of mechanical work; ensure installations comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (local, national, and international).
* Stay updated on changes in codes and regulations to maintain project compliance.
* Assist in estimating project costs and resources for mechanical works; monitor expenditures to keep projects within budget.
* Provide liaison between site mechanical teams and other stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications
* CSCS Gold Card
* NVQ or C&G in Mechanical or HVAC
* SSSTS
Salary & Package
£55,000
Travel expenses to site covered
Overtime available
20 Days Holiday & 8 Bank Holidays (increases to 25 Days after 2 years service)
