Make a Lasting Impact - Join Our Neonatal Nursing Team

Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of newborns and their families? As a Neonatal Registered Nurse in our Special Care Baby Unit, you'll deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to some of our most vulnerable patients. Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you'll help create a safe, nurturing environment while developing your skills through specialist training and mentorship.

This role offers the opportunity to lead with empathy, advocate for families, and contribute to continuous service improvement. If you're a motivated nurse who values dignity, respect, and excellence, we'd love to welcome you to our team.

Be the strength a baby needs. Be the comfort a family deserves. Be the nurse who makes a difference.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 5 Neonatal Nurse, you will deliver high-quality, compassionate care to preterm and term infants requiring medical or nursing support after birth. Working within a multidisciplinary team, your responsibilities include assessing, planning, and implementing individualised care for neonates in special care, high dependency, or intensive care settings. You will monitor vital signs, administer medications, and respond to clinical changes, ensuring timely interventions.

Effective communication is essential, as you will liaise with families, safeguarding teams, and other healthcare professionals to support holistic care. You will promote family-integrated care, encouraging parental involvement and maintaining dignity and respect throughout the infant's hospital stay. Accurate documentation and adherence to professional standards are critical.

You will also participate in ongoing professional development, including neonatal-specific training programmes, and contribute to service improvement initiatives. Shift work across a 24/7 rota is required, and you may be expected to rotate between units or support transitional care services.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Interviews to be held on 12/11/2025.
