Overview
A senior finance leadership role within a long-established construction contractor, offering full ownership of the finance function. The role suits an experienced construction finance professional comfortable operating as the number one, but also willing to take a very hands-on approach to all elements of financial management.
Client details: Our client is a privately owned construction and refurbishment contractor with a long trading history and a strong reputation across London and the South East. The business operates a traditional contractor model, delivering complex projects for a loyal client base and values experience, judgement and hands-on leadership.
Responsibilities
* Production of monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheet and forecasts
* Work-in-progress, contract accruals and margin analysis
* Weekly contract and valuation performance tracking
* Daily cash management and rolling cashflow forecasting
* Monthly VAT returns, PAYE submissions and CIS compliance
* End-to-end payroll processing and pension administration
* Overhead analysis and cost control
* Oversight of sales, nominal, subcontractor and purchase ledgers
* Maintenance of the fixed asset register
* Year-end audit preparation and liaison with external auditors
* Group reporting and consolidation where required
* Attendance at monthly management meetings, providing commercial insight
Profile / Qualifications
* You will be a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) with proven experience in a construction or contracting environment.
* You will have strong working knowledge of WIP, CIS and cashflow management, and be comfortable operating as the number one finance lead within an owner-managed business.
