Grant Thornton UK has recently taken investment from Cinven. This investment is leading to increased reporting requirements and the Financial Reporting & Accounting team are looking to expand by recruiting an Executive to join the team of accounting professionals. The team is responsible for the firm’s year-end financial reporting, external audit, the Annual Report, ESG reporting and providing complex financial information to external and internal stakeholders including the Strategic Leadership Team and the Board.
The team’s structure will become more complex as we take on new investments, with increasing demands from external stakeholders, including ESG reporting. This role supports the team as we grow, ensuring the quality of information produced is non-negotiable and exploring digital solutions to improve efficiency.
Responsibilities
* Work independently, aiming for the highest standards, to produce quality information for manager review. Be agile to take on new challenges and requests as the business grows.
* Focus on ESG reporting, involving various reporting activities including routine annual reporting and ad hoc tasks.
* Collaborate with stakeholders from different internal teams to contribute to ESG reporting.
* Be curious about digital tools available within the firm and seek ways to improve reporting processes. Question the status quo and help drive change.
* Understand the need to adapt and prioritise requests to meet deadlines and manage stakeholder expectations.
* Be active in personal development and contribute to others’ development through collaboration and feedback.
Qualifications
* Professional qualification (ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA or CIPFA, AAT) ideally with post-qualification experience; may be an early step into the industry role.
* Advanced Excel and analytical skills.
* Experience with Microsoft packages.
* Experience using digital solutions to improve processes.
* Interest in ESG and an understanding of carbon reporting is desirable but not essential.
