About the Role We are seeking a number of Trainee Utility Surveyors to join our growing team, with exciting opportunities to work on some of the largest UK construction projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career in utility surveying while being mentored by our experienced professionals. We're looking for someone who is purpose-driven, collaborative, adaptable, and safety-conscious – someone who wants to make a real impact in keeping the water running and the lights on for towns and cities across the UK. Your role will include a mixture of site and office-based work as part of a team delivering modern survey solutions using cutting-edge technology. Our experienced team members will offer mentoring and support tailored to your development needs, helping you grow within our rapidly expanding business.
Key Responsibilities
Utilise modern surveying techniques and equipment including total stations, GPS, laser scanners and data collection devices
Accurately document underground utility assets and conduct manhole inspections, along with performing above-ground topographical surveys
Assist your mentor in completing surveys following Vision Survey's, RICS, and industry PAS 128 standards
Develop and maintain strong client relationships to ensure expectations are met
Support detailed fieldwork and office surveying assignments
Verify the accuracy of information gathered on-site and ensure smooth transition to deliverables
Maintain and care for all surveying equipment
Deliver to company policies, procedures, standards and best practices
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Essential Requirements:
Full UK manual driving licence
Flexibility to travel to sites nationwide with own vehicle
Able to work collaboratively in a team and deal with clients on site
Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with all levels of stakeholders
Adaptable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment that changes quickly
Strong work ethic with ability to prioritise workloads effectively
Willingness to learn and develop within the utility surveying field
Desirable:
Previous surveying or construction industry experience
CSCS Card holder (this will be required before starting work)
University degree in survey or related field
Knowledge of PAS 128 standards
Basic understanding of utility mapping principles
