Job Specification - Paralegal (Industrial Disease) Location: Manchester Hours: Full-time, Permanent (Monday-Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm) Salary: Competitive, with bonus scheme and benefits package The Role Due to continued growth, we have an excellent opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Asbestos Litigation Team in Manchester. The successful candidate will work closely with a Partner and other fee earners, assisting with the management of cases on behalf of victims of asbestos-related diseases. This will include involvement in both pre-litigated and litigated matters from start to finish. this specialist law practice is recognised for its expertise in complex and high-value litigation, with a strong focus on industrial disease and asbestos-related claims. The team is known for combining technical legal knowledge with a compassionate, client-focused approach, ensuring cases are handled with professionalism, dedication, and care. This role is ideal for a Law Graduate / LPC Graduate with strong academics who is seeking to develop their legal career, or an experienced paralegal with a background in personal injury. Responsibilities & Duties Provide proactive support to the Partner and fee earners within the department. Draft legal documents, including witness statements and schedules of loss. Liaise with counsel, medical experts, and other professionals. Communicate with clients with sensitivity and professionalism. Understand client requirements and manage matters in line with service standards and best practice. Assist with case progression, ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met. Maintain accurate case management records and utilise relevant software effectively. Knowledge, Skills & Experience Experience in industrial disease or personal injury within a legal environment (preferred). Strong academic qualifications in Law. Ability to build relationships with clients, families, witnesses, counsel, and experts. Empathy, professionalism, and a client-focused approach to service delivery. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a confident telephone manner. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage workloads under pressure. Proficient in using case management systems and Microsoft Office applications. High attention to detail and accuracy.
