Portfolio Operations Manager
Leap29 are working closely with a top tier IPP company who are dedicated to accelerating the renewable energy transition. Their portfolio spans utility-scale solar PV, onshore wind, and storage projects. As both a developer and long-term owner, they invest in building sustainable energy assets that deliver value and impact.
The Role:
As Portfolio Operations Manager, based in London, you will take full responsibility for managing a diverse portfolio of operational renewable energy assets. You’ll serve as the key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring assets are optimised, compliant, and delivering strong performance. This role requires a balance of strategic oversight, operational management, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
* Portfolio Oversight: Manage the operational performance of renewable assets to the highest industry standards.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison for all matters relating to the operating portfolio.
* Third-Party Management: Oversee external technical and commercial asset managers to ensure quality delivery.
* Performance Optimisation: Identify and implement initiatives to enhance asset performance and profitability.
* Financial Integration: Partner with finance and investment teams on budgeting, energy sales, cost approvals, and financial reporting.
* Reporting: Deliver clear monthly and quarterly updates to Executive Management and the Board.
* Risk Management: Anticipate potential risks and collaborate across teams to implement effective solutions.
* Collaboration: Work closely with development, construction, procurement, and finance teams to ensure smooth handovers across the project lifecycle.
* Investment Support: Contribute to M&A and investment opportunities by supporting due diligence and analysis.
* Compliance: Ensure projects meet all regulatory, contractual, and operational requirements.
* Leadership: Mentor and support team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Requirements:
* Experience: 7+ years in renewable energy asset management, ideally across Wind, Solar PV, and BESS.
* Proven Results: Demonstrated success in optimising operational assets and driving portfolio performance.
* Industry Knowledge: Background in Asset Management with IPPs or asset investors.
* Education: Degree in Renewable Energy, Engineering, Construction, or related field preferred.
* Leadership: Strong people management experience with the ability to build and develop high-performing teams.
* Collaboration: Track record of working effectively across functions to deliver results.
* Communication: Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at all levels.
* Ownership Mindset: A proactive, accountable approach with a drive to improve systems, processes, and outcomes.
* Problem-Solving: Ability to analyse data, identify issues, and implement effective solutions.
* Relationship Building: Skilled at developing trusted relationships with stakeholders and industry partners.
* Commercial Acumen: Strong business sense with the ability to connect operational performance to strategic value.
