Main Purpose of the Role
As a key member of the estimating team at Mumford & Wood Ltd, you will play a vital role in supporting the sales function by producing accurate, timely and commercially considered estimates for our customers. Operating exclusively within the B2B sector, this role is instrumental in upholding the high standards of service and support expected by our architect, developer and contractor clients across the premium projects.
Role Responsibilities
· Qualify the suitability of new enquiries and establish customer requirements from drawings and specifications.
· Produce competitive, accurate and detailed estimates working in conjunction with sales and liaising directly with architects, designers, builders, developers and contractors.
· Identify contract specifications, ensuring technical and commercial compliance, and provide clearly identified prices and specifications to the customer.
· Manage your workload effectively, enabling all enquiries to be dealt with to industry-leading timescales and satisfaction levels without compromising on accuracy.
· Provide expert advice to customers, promoting the full package of products and services Mumford & Wood offer.
· Promote the process of continuous improvement in the business.
· Sustain a positive team environment, displaying high levels of motivation and excellent team spirit.
· Participate and contribute to internal team meetings and external client meetings.
· Promote effective communication throughout all levels of the business functions.
· Maintain strong relationships with prospective clients and professionals to foster further business opportunities.
Knowledge & Skills
· Attention to detail is essential.
· Ability to interpret architectural drawings, schedules and technical robust details is advantageous.
· Experience in communication with clients, architects and contractors in a professional solutions-focused manner.
· Previous building industry experience would be advantageous. Knowledge of joinery & fenestration solutions would be a distinct advantage.
· Highly numerate with well-developed ability to accurately manipulate numerical information.
· Evidence of maintaining a professional, consistent and fair approach.
· Ability to manage different tasks in a fast-moving and dynamic environment.
· Effective communication skills.
· Ability to work well both in a team and on your own, using your initiative.
· Highly proficient in the use of IT software and systems. ie Microsoft Office.
