Are you looking to join an expanding Imaging Department and contribute to the growth of the CT & MRI service? Are you a proactive team member looking to develop clinical skills and knowledge in cross-sectional imaging?
As part of our vibrant, friendly and inclusive team, you will be based in the CT & MRI departments, which currently consist of 2 Siemens 1.5T MRI scanners on site, 1 GE 1.5T Voyager MRI at a CDC site, and 3 on-site Canon CT scanners. A new Imaging Scanning Centre is due for completion in spring 2026. You will undertake a wide range of examinations within MRI and CT, including MSK, dynamic studies, and angiography, with opportunities across cardiac CT, CT colonography, biopsies and interventional procedures, emergency scans and outpatient services. Some out-of-hours work will be involved.
Our department trains students from the University of Hertfordshire and apprentice radiographers studying at the University of Exeter. You will contribute to delivering a proactive, first-class diagnostic service aligned with the Trust’s core values: Care, Collaborate, Communicate and Contribute.
Responsibilities
* To work a rotation through the MRI and CT departments, conducting cross-sectional examinations using a range of MRI and CT equipment, both autonomously and as part of a multi-professional team, in accordance with professional, departmental and legal standards.
* To assist in the daily management of the MRI and CT scanning departments, fostering a safe and efficient environment for patients, staff and visitors.
* Ensure patient safety and a positive patient experience by treating all patients, relatives and colleagues with respect, dignity and courtesy in line with Trust values.
Flexibility in approach is essential, with a strong commitment to keeping patients at the forefront of practice.
Qualifications
* Essential qualifications include excellent communication and organisational skills, a commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and practical knowledge of radiation protection, legislation, and health and safety requirements.
