Job summary

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Patient Systems Team leading ondeveloping and providing technical support and technical systems administration for TEWV's portfolio of Patient Information Systems.

The role will primarily lead on the development and maintenance of SystmOne, but will also undertake development and maintenance on TEWV's other Patient Systems which are CITO, Electronic Prescribing, Paris and Virtual Visits.

Applicants MUST be educated to Degree standard or equivalent in an Informatics Subject, or evidence equivalent experiential learning. In addition, applicants must have significant experience of managing, supporting and administering large information systems and Significant experience of planning and delivering change within an informatics environment.

You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.

Main duties of the job

Key duties include:

1. Planning, delivering and evaluating appropriate systems developments using the Agile methodology.
2. Developing and Maintaining Patient Systems (Primarily SystmOne)
3. Managing System upgrades (including testing, configuration and issue management), which will include periodic out of hours working.
4. Supervising a team of Systems Officers to support the technical administration and development of large-scale patient systems.

Qualifications

Essential

5. Educated to Degree standard or equivalent preferably in an informatics related subject
6. OR Equivalent experiential learning in the field of Information systems design, development and implementation

7. Post graduate qualification standard or equivalent or experiential learning in an informatics related subject

8. Significant experience of managing and administering a large information system
9. Significant experience of planning and delivering change within an informatics environment
10. Significant experience of change control processes and producing technical specification options
11. Significant experience of managing and supporting complex database management systems in busy, confidential settings
12. Experience of supervising staff
13. Experience of a customer led service
14. Experience of NHS IT systems and services
15. Experience of using and writing SQL and other system development languages.
16. Experience in managing projects or work packages
17. Experience of business process redesign

18. Working in an NHS environment
19. Experience in the management of third party suppliers
20. ITIL

Knowledge

21. Demonstrable post-graduate level knowledge in the following areas: Relational database management systems (RDBS)
22. Business process redesign techniques
23. One or more computer system(s), hardware or software and procedures to develop reports, documents and spreadsheets
24. Facilitation and training delivery techniques
25. Software application platforms,. (but not limited to) SQL, IBM, Oracle including practical applications
26. System change control processes, upgrades paths and release management
27. Knowledge of change management principles
28. Standard PC applications (. PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

29. Knowledge of current NHS legislation, policies and procedures
30. Knowledge of clinical processes and Patient Information Systems
