Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical) – Plymouth
Permanent position with Competitive Salary + Car/Car Allowance + Flexible Benefits. This role is for a Project Engineer or Manager with a mechanical bias to join our team based in Plymouth. The project site is a dockyard, so security clearance is required; applications are welcome from British Nationals who can obtain full security clearance.
In this role you will control the overall operational delivery of a project (or part thereof), considering safety, technical, commercial and managerial requirements through the full lifecycle from bid and pre-commencement to successful completion. You will ensure profitability is maintained or improved through effective leadership and management of the support functions and through building high quality customer relationships.
Please note: Due to the nature of work on the project site, we can only consider British nationals who will be able to obtain full security clearance.
Responsibilities
* Ensure that our safety first and foremost message is visible and alive through all activities on the project
* Participate in bid activities to ensure a professional, profitable, successful bid which meets customer expectations
* Manage pre-commencement activities in conjunction with the Pre-construction Manager
* Maximise opportunities, efficiency and profitability in the delivery phase of the project
* Ensure precise provision of customer requirements by effectively reviewing the scope of works and installation methods
* Identify and manage risks
* Lead the team, including specialist sub-contractors, through all stages of the project through to successful completion
* Lead contract reviews, including preparation and submission of reports and any project related data
* Prepare and update business plans with the Commercial Director
* Develop and maintain positive long-term customer relationships
What we're looking for
* Demonstrable mechanical building services experience in a construction environment, with previous experience in a similar role
* Industry recognised trade or professional qualification
* Apprenticeship in mechanical discipline
* Specific experience of working on high value projects
