Role Overview
This is a managerial role within Asda’s Legal and Compliance function, focusing on Financial Services (primarily FCA regulation) and Telecoms (primarily OFCOM regulation). The role involves developing, delivering, and advising on compliance programs, understanding relevant laws, and driving continuous improvement. You will report to the Senior Manager for the Financial Crime & Financial Services Compliance Team.
Main Responsibilities
* Implement, monitor, and improve compliance procedures and controls for Financial Services and Mobile businesses.
* Prioritize activities through horizon scanning and risk assessment of emerging compliance risks.
* Develop policies, guidance, process flows, and tools for internal and business use.
* Act as a trusted business partner, applying a risk-based approach and providing timely advice and approvals.
* Support training development and delivery on compliance topics.
* Collaborate with external agencies and experts.
* Support ad hoc projects within the Legal and Compliance team.
Candidate Profile
We seek a motivated, innovative manager experienced in legal, compliance, or audit functions, with:
* Expertise in risk management and control design, with ability to interpret complex regulations into clear policies.
* Experience within a Financial Services environment, with knowledge of FCA regulations and the FCA Handbook.
* Familiarity with OFCOM regulations and Telecoms (Mobile) environment is a plus.
* Strong business partnering skills, influencing and collaborating across teams.
* Autonomous, adaptable, and able to work efficiently in a dynamic environment.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
