Job Overview
This role will be based in the community supporting our Client who is an adult who has spinal injury and complex health needs requiring high level of care and support at home. The Nursing Assistant will deliver person‑centred care and support clients with complex health needs at home. We are looking for individuals to join our team either on a part‑time or full‑time bank basis.
Key Responsibilities
Support and care: Provide complex care including tracheostomy care, Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy feeding, ventilation management, oral suctioning, bowel management, nebuliser use and medication administration. Assist with daily living activities and deliver compassionate, person‑centred care.
Teamwork and reporting: Report to the Complex Care Lead Nurse. Support and motivate both clinical and operations teams. Maintain clear professional boundaries in a home setting.
Requirements & Qualifications
* 1 year or more experience as a Complex Care Support Worker with people who have spinal injury.
* 1 year or more experience as a Healthcare Assistant with complex care experience.
* NVQ Level 3 related subjects.
* NVQ Level 4 related subjects.
* Nursery nurse qualifications or similar.
* Diploma in relevant health/social subject.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to multi‑task and work independently or as part of a team.
* Commitment to mandatory training, attendance and engagement.
* Experience in acute and community settings, and with mental health provision.
* Understanding of Information Governance, Data Protection, Care Certificate standards, and safeguarding vulnerable children and adults.
* Ability to communicate highly complex or sensitive information and overcome barriers to understanding.
* High level of attention to detail, accuracy and pride in work presentation.
* Ability to demonstrate tact, sensitivity, empathy and compassion when communicating with families under pressure.
