Major Recruitment are currently recruiting a Skilled Sheet Metal Welder / Fabricator on behalf of our prestigious engineering client based in Dronfield.
Please note: Work will initially be based in Hope (S33) for up to 8 weeks while our client completes their new site in Dronfield (S18). Applicants must be able to travel to both sites.

The role would suit candidates who are time served, apprentice trained or NVQ qualified in Welding and Fabrication.
In this role, you will be responsible for the fabrication and welding of high quality, bespoke products, including sheet metal components, utilising your expertise to ensure precision and durability. This is a great opportunity for a talented individual to work on market leading bespoke products for the global market.
Primary responsibilities:
* Weld and fabricate a variety of bespoke components using stainless steel, nickel alloys and mild steel materials, gauge of sheet metal generally between 0.9mm & 6mm thickness.
* Weld and fabricate frameworks from mild steel rolled, stainless steel, hollow section and angle iron to a high standard.
* Read engineering drawings and translate that into an end product with minimum supervision.
* Achieve a high standard of finish/tolerance on bespoke fabricated products.
* Complete problem logs regarding issues with drawings and materials.
Pay rate: £18.15 per hour (depending on experience)
Working hours: flexible working (4 day or 4.5 day working week)

Key skills and qualifications:
* Apprentice trained (City and Guilds or NVQ equivalent in fabrication and welding) and/or time served fabricator/welder.
* Previous experience in the welding and fabrication of bespoke products, including sheet metal, working within a light / medium fabrication working environment.
* Good MIG, TIG and spot-welding skills are essential, the interview will include a weld test.
* Have good calculation skills and have the ability to work to fine tolerances.
* Strong problem-solving skills, Capable of working on their own initiative and as part of a team.
* Highly motivated with a team orientated work style
* Accuracy and attention to detail.
