Graduate Service Engineer | Southampton
A leading developer of advanced scientific instrumentation is seeking a motivated Trainee Service Engineer to join their team. This role is ideal for recent graduates, postgraduates, or PhD holders from scientific or engineering backgrounds who have a keen interest in high-tech equipment and hands-on technical work.
The Role:
Travel to customer sites both within the UK and internationally
Typical site visits last up to 7 days, with occasional extended assignments lasting several weeks.
During the training period and when not deployed to customer locations, you’ll work closely with the internal Test team to gain hands-on experience in testing and optimising advanced ion beam systems
Act as a point of contact for customers, offering technical guidance and troubleshooting support
Key Qualifications and Experience:
A background in a technical discipline, ideally holding a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, or Electronics. Alternatively, a completed technical apprenticeship within an engineering environment will also be considered
Practical experience working with scientific equipment, either in a university or research setting (such as through academic projects), or within a scientific instrumentation company.
Familiarity with vacuum systems and high-precision scientific instruments is highly desirable.
Valid Drivers License
