Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have CE&I experience within the Nuclear sector.

The Role
1. Execute the strategic objectives of the Senior Engineering Managers and the company.
2. Capture key learnings from project execution to improve future engineering delivery.
3. Manage direct reports, including appraisals, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
4. Provide guidance on project processes and procedures for consistency.
5. Identify needs for sub-contracting or outsourcing specialist activities.
6. Identify skills gaps and training needs for team members.
7. Conduct or support engineering delivery audits and address improvements.
8. Ensure team has the necessary tools, information, codes, and standards.
9. Serve as the final technical authority in disciplinary or complex issues.
10. Continuously improve department operations and quality.
11. Support resource planning and minimize underutilization.
12. Plan and execute engineering and design activities within budgets and schedules.
13. Produce design quality plans and ensure compliance with quality standards.
14. Identify resource requirements and request additional resources as needed.
15. Report on progress against work plans.
16. Ensure compliance with applicable legislation.
17. Standardize use of software tools, protocols, and documentation formats.
18. Support technical information production for tenders.
19. Build and maintain relationships with customer stakeholders.
20. Monitor and mitigate technical and project risks.
21. Organize and lead design reviews.
22. Possess a degree with honours, Level 6, or be a Chartered Engineer.
23. Have extensive knowledge of working within a highly regulated industry like Nuclear.
24. Be competent in CAD software and digital tools.
25. Understand and apply design codes, standards, and laws.
26. Have broad experience in the respective discipline (e.g., Mechanical or Electrical).
27. Have demonstrated experience in design and detailing of plant and equipment.
28. Understand NEC contracts, change control, and project management practices.
29. Have managed a team of multi-discipline engineers and designers.
30. Prepare and maintain schedules, lead teams, and act as a resource custodian.
