Are you passionate about working with children and creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment after school? Mersham Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic After School Club Lead to take overall responsibility for running our vibrant After School Club.

As the After School Club Lead, you will play a vital role in enriching the lives of children aged 4-11 by planning and organising a variety of enjoyable activities. You will also be responsible for preparing healthy snacks, ensuring the club runs smoothly, and maintaining high standards of health, safety, and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage the After School Club operations daily
2. Plan and deliver a diverse range of stimulating activities suitable for children aged 4-11
3. Prepare and serve healthy snacks to support children’s well-being
4. Maintain a safe and secure environment, adhering to health and safety and safeguarding policies
5. Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
6. Ensure smooth day-to-day running of the club, including record-keeping and communication

Required Qualifications and Experience

7. Experience working with children in a similar setting
8. Understanding of safeguarding and health and safety requirements
9. Ability to plan and organise engaging activities
10. Food preparation skills with an emphasis on healthy options

Desirable Qualities

11. Friendly, approachable, and caring personality
12. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
13. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
14. Enthusiasm for supporting children’s development and well-being

Hours and Salary

15. 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 3:00pm – 6:00pm (term time only)
16. Salary: £26,393 pro rata

Mersham Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. Successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check.

Mersham Primary School will also carry out an online search as part of their due diligence on any shortlisted candidates. This may help identify any incidents or issues that have happened, and are publicly available online, which we might want to explore with an applicant at interview. This information will be kept on file for 6 months, in line with data protection procedures.
