Purpose of Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Fabric Technician to join our team delivering maintenance and repair services across the MOD Estate in Bicester and the surrounding area.
Job Description
Working as part of our Defence contract, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of fabric maintenance tasks to ensure that all buildings and facilities are kept in excellent working order, safe, and compliant
Responsibilities
1. Undertake planned and reactive maintenance works across the MOD Estate, including carpentry, plastering, painting, basic plumbing, tiling, and general building fabric repairs.
2. Carry out inspections and ensure all works are completed to Vinci Facilities and MOD quality standards.
3. Support the delivery of minor project works and refurbishments as required.
4. Maintain accurate records of completed work using handheld devices or job sheets.
5. Comply with all Health & Safety, environmental, and security requirements on MOD sites.
6. Work collaboratively with other trades and service teams to provide a high-quality, customer-focused service.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
7. Proven experience in a building fabric or maintenance technician role.
8. Relevant trade qualification ( City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2/3, or equivalent) in carpentry, joinery, or a related discipline.
9. Good understanding of building maintenance and safe working practices.
10. Ability to work independently across multiple sites within the Bicester area.
11. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
12. Full UK driving licence (company vehicle provided).
13. Security clearance (or eligibility to obtain MOD security clearance).
