Job Description:
Are you looking to use your writing skills in your career?
Do you want to work for an exciting, fast-growing company?
The Company
A welcoming company that focuses on staff satisfaction, welfare, and personal development. They respect their staff, encourage a friendly office environment, and host regular informal gatherings and outings. You will become part of an excellent team with a fantastic industry reputation for high-quality service.
My client is a rapidly growing Reading-based business specialising in tender writing, bidding, and public procurement. They support their clients in growing their businesses by writing winning bids for new work and contracts.
The role
We seek candidates with excellent writing and communication skills to become proficient bid writers.
Your role will involve communicating with clients, understanding their businesses, and translating their service offerings into compelling narratives. This role offers exposure to various organisations (such as charities, consultancy firms, and tier-one construction companies) and sectors (including custody and justice, energy and tech, security and defence, health and social care, and civil engineering and construction).
You will support clients in bidding for iconic projects, helping shape public sector services in the UK. Building long-lasting relationships and being invested in your clients’ success will be key aspects of your role.
About you
We’re looking for diligent candidates who are excellent communicators, proactive, good at time management, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. If you are adaptable, resilient, eager to develop your writing skills, and a team player, we look forward to your application.
Ideal candidates often have a background in English Literature, Law, History, or other essay-based subjects, and possess strong foundational academic and writing skills that can be developed into professional bid writing expertise.
Apply if you’re skilled at:
* Writing reports, articles, essays, etc., and quickly interpreting information clearly and succinctly
* Effective communication via emails, calls, reports, and building positive client relationships
* Managing time effectively to meet deadlines and plan work
You will receive industry-leading training from a Senior Bid Consultant and ongoing support through weekly 1:1s with a company director and roundtable sessions.
* Flexible working hours (between 8 am-6 pm, with core hours 10 am - 4 pm)
* Performance-based bonus scheme
* Company contribution to counselling sessions ('no questions asked')
* Flexible progression options into specialised writing and management roles
* Company pension contributions
* 25 days paid annual leave plus bank holidays
