The job itself
Lady in her mid 20s requires Personal Assistant to support her in the community and at home. Lady has Autism, Tourette syndrome, ADHD, Functional Neurological Disorder, absence seizures, anxiety, mobility problems and has problems with her personal care needs, to be discussed further at interview.
Lady sometimes uses a wheelchair and if she isn't using a wheelchair will use crutches to get around.
The role will involve taking lady out and about to places of interest and taking her to groups that she attends. She also enjoys shopping, cinema and bowling although she does need help with the financial side of things. Lady requires support when out and about ie when asking and paying in shops (sometimes she is able to do this but not always ) and she may need help and support with toileting, due to her Functional Neurological Disorder.
Requires someone who is understanding of the ladies disabilities. Is patient and willing to be flexible due to the ladies conditions. Someone with a good sense of humour, who is outgoing and confident. Car driver is preferrable.
A genuine occupational requirement for a female worker exists for this post under the Equality Act 2010 due to privacy and decency.
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post. Cost to be met by the local authority.
