Job Description
Help shape the control systems behind the energy transition. You join a team working on some of the most advanced technologies in the power industry. As Product Manager – Control Systems Algorithms, you help define the algorithms that sit at the heart of high‑voltage direct current and grid stability solutions, supporting the integration of renewable energy, strengthening power networks, and enabling a more reliable energy future.
What You Will Do
You lead the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle of control systems algorithms across a broad portfolio of grid technologies.
* Define and drive the roadmap for algorithm capabilities across transmission and grid stability solutions
* Shape a product approach that improves reusability, consistency, and scalability across multiple applications
* Translate market trends, customer needs, and future grid requirements into clear product priorities
* Partner with engineering, system architecture, research and development, and commercial teams to align product direction
* Own product-level requirements and help ensure clear traceability from solution need to delivered capability
* Guide lifecycle management from development and release through support and retirement
* Support strong product documentation, configuration management, and governance
* Use feedback from projects, service teams, and quality insights to improve performance and reliability
* Contribute to technology decisions, investment planning, and long‑term portfolio competitiveness
* Help represent the business in industry and standards discussions where relevant
The impact you will make
Your work directly influences the performance, flexibility, and future readiness of critical grid technologies. By building a strong and scalable algorithm portfolio, you will help:
* Improve grid reliability and stability
* Support greater integration of renewable energy
* Create solutions that can be reused across technologies and markets
* Strengthen product competitiveness and long‑term business value
* Accelerate innovation in a fast‑changing energy landscape
What You Will Bring
You bring strong product, systems, and technical leadership experience in power system controls or closely related technologies.
* Substantive experience with control systems algorithms in power transmission, grid stability, or related energy applications
* Strong understanding of software‑led product development and requirements management
* Experience working across complex, cross‑functional technical environments
* The ability to connect detailed technical topics with broader product and business goals
* Confidence influencing stakeholders across engineering, product, and commercial teams
* A structured approach to roadmap planning, prioritisation, and lifecycle management
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences
It would be helpful if you also have experience with modelling or simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink or PSCAD, or with product collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence, but these are not essential if you bring strong relevant capability.
Why join us
You take on a role with real strategic and technical influence at a time of major change in global energy systems. You will have the opportunity to shape product direction, work with expert teams across multiple countries, and contribute to technologies that are central to cleaner, more resilient power networks.
You will join an environment that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, where your ideas can help define what comes next.
