Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients safely and efficiently, ensuring high‑quality patient care and adherence to infection control standards and assisting in GP‑led clinics within the practice.
Responsibilities
* Perform venepuncture and capillary sampling for a variety of diagnostic tests.
* Accurately label and process blood specimens for laboratory analysis.
* Ensure patient comfort and confidentiality at all times.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation.
* Adhere to all infection prevention, health, and safety procedures.
* Work collaboratively with clinicians, nurses, and laboratory staff.
* Assist with GP‑led clinics within the practice.
* Assist with administrative and stock management duties where required.

Person Specification
Essential
* Proven experience as a Phlebotomist or completion of accredited phlebotomy training.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
* Empathetic and patient‑centred approach.
* Basic computer literacy and familiarity with electronic health records.
* Current DBS check and up‑to‑date immunisations.
Desirable
* Previous experience in a hospital, GP surgery, or diagnostic centre.
* Knowledge of pathology systems.
* First Aid or Basic Life Support certification.
