The post is available on a flexible hybrid basis with minimum on site working of 2.5 days per week. You will lead a programme of research in contemplative science, designing implementing and disseminating research, combining contemplative science, artificial intelligence, and human flourishing. You will develop ideas for generating research income and promoting the research area and write funding applications for independent research. About You You will have a Ph.D/D.Phil in cognitive science or a closely related field with significant post-qualification research experience and an established reputation and publication record. With experience in contemplative practice, knowledge of historical and traditional context of mediation practices (e.g., Buddhism, you will have a track record of interdisciplinary work at the nexus of artificial intelligence and neuroscience. Experience collecting multi-modal neurophysiological data would be desirable as would experience integrating behavioural, phenomenological and neuroimaging datasets with theoretical implications.
