Help us make a big green dent in the universe. We're on a mission to drive the global renewable energy revolution and need your help to turn our vision into a reality. We're looking for engineers with a track record of safety and customer excellence. You'll be representing our brands in our customers' homes, so you need to be comfortable talking to customers and performing the installation itself. You’ll be fitting meters; showing customers how their meter and in-home display work; how it can help them save energy; and answering questions about the green energy revolution we are leading.
As part of the Octopus Energy Services team, you’ll have the support to deliver top-class service. You’ll be supported by an office team who share the same performance goals, and Octopus Energy’s tech power will help evolve processes to spend less time on admin and more on delivering great service.
Responsibilities
 * Fit meters and ensure safe, reliable installations in customers’ homes.
 * Demonstrate how the meter and in-home display work and how to use them to save energy.
 * Provide excellent customer service and answer customer questions related to the installation and the green energy transition.
 * Represent Octopus Energy Services professionally and collaboratively with colleagues to meet performance goals.
 * Escalate issues as required and collaborate with support teams to continuously improve processes.
 * Participate in training to attain and maintain required qualifications (see Qualifications).
Qualifications
 * Gas Safe registration — CCN1/MET1 or CMA1/MET1 (or equivalent).
 * Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
 * Full training provided to attain MOCoPA qualification.
 * Desire to work in customers’ homes and deliver a high standard of service.
Salary and Benefits
 * £36,500 starting salary, with potential to earn up to £50,000 OTE including bonus and on-call.
 * £2,500 annual performance bonus, and fit bonuses.
 * £25 per week lunch allowance.

 * For every asset installed beyond your sixth, you’ll earn an additional £15.
 * Call-out and overtime: rotating schedule once every five weeks (Mon–Sun) with a £250 retainer; paid door-to-door if called out.
 * Saturday rates: £50 attendance, £70 for a dual-fuel installation, £35 for a single-fuel installation; technical aborts paid at half rate.
Next Steps
Our process typically takes up to 4 weeks. If successful in our eligibility questions, you’ll be invited to our in-person recruitment event. You’ll complete a practical trade test and have a short interview with an Area Manager. You’ll also have the chance to ask questions and learn more about life as a Smart Meter Engineer with Octopus.
