Overview
Market 36 Recruitment are currently looking for a Service Engineer on behalf of our client based in Witham, Essex on a permanent basis. Our client is seeking an experienced and reliable Service Engineer to report into the Service Manager/Engineering Manager in order to support their customer base of compressed air products, as well as their electrical industrial compressed air products including the maintenance, repair and installation of this equipment. You will be expected to drive out to client/customer sites predominately but may be required to head to the main office in Witham when needed.
Experience, Responsibilities & Qualifications
* A formal technical training by means of apprenticeship or equivalent is required together with a minimum of two years practical experience working without direct supervision. A current driving licence is essential.
* Undertake all work allocated in a speedy and efficient manner and promote a good image of the Company to all its customers.
* Be flexible in undertaking various tasks to optimise the labour available in the Service Department.
* Work with a minimum of supervision and undertake training on products new or old when required.
* Operate in a safe manner in accordance with the Company's Health & Safety policy and comply with customers' own safety rules when on customer sites.
* Be responsible for all Company property (tools, overalls, spare parts, etc.) issued for personal use or completion of specific tasks and comply with the Company's Vehicle Policy.
* Complete and submit all Service Reports, Time Sheets and other documents needed for the smooth operation of the Service Department without delay.
* Be available for emergency out-of-hours duty as per the emergency call‑out rota.
* Use clean Company‑issued clothing/overalls and wear these at all times during working hours.
* Plan daily workload and communicate with the customer.
* Work within the Company's Standard procedures and comply with all Company Quality Standards.
* Be flexible in undertaking other duties as may be required from time to time to meet the needs of the Company and fully support the Company's policy of Quality Management and progression.
* Travel to client/customer bases as required around the Essex or Hertfordshire boundaries. A work van will be supplied.
Hours: Monday‑Friday 8:30am‑5pm
Salary: £30,000‑£45,000 (DOE)
