Days & Hours
Deputy Team Leader – Up to 128 hours per 4‑week cycle (average of 36 hours per week, including Deputy Team Leader hours). Flexibility may be required on start and finish times to meet Tristan's individual needs. To participate in the on‑call rota alongside the Team Leader and Nurse Advisor. Part‑time applications accepted.
Support Worker – Various shifts available to include days and nights. Flexibility may be required on start and finish times to meet Tristan's individual needs on different days due to activities.
Bank Support Worker – Bank hours available to cover absences of the current team.
Pay
Deputy Team Leader – £16.50 per hour Monday to Friday days and waking nights, £18.50 per hour weekend days and waking nights, £NLW (£12.21 per hour for those aged 21+) weekday sleeping nights 11 pm‑7 am, £NLW + £1 (£13.21 per hour for those aged 21+) weekend sleeping nights 11 pm‑7 am. On‑standby shift paid at £31.20 per shift.
Support Worker – £13.23 per hour Monday to Friday days and waking nights, £15.44 per hour weekend days, £17.64 per hour bank holidays, £NLW (£12.21 per hour for those aged 21+), weekday sleeping nights 11 pm‑7 am, £NLW + £1 (£13.21 per hour for those aged 21+), weekend sleeping nights 11 pm‑7 am. On‑standby shift paid at £31.20 per shift *there is a pay review pending for this role*.
Driving & Vehicle
Driver required: Essential (will need own car to get to work as the client lives in a rural setting with no public transport).
Driving clients' car: Yes, client's adapted vehicle which is automatic.
Using own vehicle for work purposes: Essential to get to and from work as client is not near any public transport links, and to attend training.
Essential Experience
* Previous experience of working with children/young adults with neuro disability.
Desirable
* Experience and qualifications in caring for children/young people with severe disabilities.
* PEG experience.
Accommodation On Duty
Fully adapted family home, with separate carer's entrance and carer's room and kitchen facilities.

About Tristan
Tristan is a young man born in 2000, who due to an injury at birth has complex physical, psychological and communication needs. He thoroughly enjoys being outdoors rather than indoors and requires help to plan his weekly outdoor activities such as theatre trips, shopping and day services. He is gastrostomy fed and dependent on his wheelchair for mobility. He requires assistance with personal care tasks, activities of daily living and leisure pursuits to maintain and increase his independence and bring more structure and routine to his day. The team works 2:1 care due to moving and handling requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities
The Deputy Team Leader will assist the Team Leader in running the care team, covering when the Team Leader is not available, supporting rota management, finding cover for absences, and being on call for any staff shortages. This is alongside the role of Support Worker.
Support Workers will support Tristan with all aspects of daily living and when out in the community and to pursue social outings. Support Workers must be able to drive the wheelchair adapted vehicle as getting out and about is very important.
Ideal Candidate
A candidate who is calm but proactive, brings enthusiasm, good organisational skills, effective communication, patience, tact, understanding, warmth and compassion.
