About the Role
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join an established and creative kitchen team at a stunning wedding and events venue. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of culinary experience, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining exceptional food quality and presentation standards.
As Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with the Head Chef to oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service, efficient team performance, and consistent delivery of outstanding dishes.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and support kitchen staff, ensuring efficiency and high standards throughout service.
* Assist in food preparation, cooking, and plating to deliver dishes of the highest quality.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu development, seasonal offerings, and creative presentation.
* Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
* Train, mentor, and motivate junior kitchen team members.
* Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering and inventory management.
* Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
* Contribute to smooth service during busy periods, ensuring timely and professional delivery.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a similar role within a high-volume or fine dining environment.
* Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience within a kitchen team.
* Strong knowledge of modern cooking techniques and kitchen best practices.
* Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
* Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
* Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Passionate about hospitality and creating memorable dining experiences.
* Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are an advantage.
